More Celtic inspired work
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011I thought I’ve have a play at weaving cord as it’s far easier to work with than wire for this kind of thing. I’m thinking that I might be able to combine woven cord with silver jewellery.
I did some simple weaves to start with but then decided to learn how to make this complete bangle with one long continuous cord. I love learning new things and I enjoyed making this.
I’d be interested to know if people would prefer leather to waxed cotton or if coloured silk cords might be nicer? I might have a look in the craft shop later and see what they’ve got.

Friday, April 8th, 2011Sterling Silver
Tuesday, April 5th, 2011Ever since I started making jewellery I have stayed away from Sterling Silver due to the price, and the price has continued to go up and up. However, I feel limited with silver plated wire because I can’t oxidise it in the same way as the copper. Sterling silver can be oxidised and because of that I’ve been experimenting. I’ve just made two small pieces and I’ve loved working with it. I love the way it feels, the way it reacts to the oxidising, the finish I can get with it.
I want to offer sterling silver jewellery to my customers but will be making pieces to order rather than keeping them in stock. If there is any piece on my site that you would like made in sterling silver, oxidised or not, get in touch!
Tree of Life Pendants
Thursday, March 31st, 2011I’ve revisited an old favourite that I loved making in copper. In silver they look so very different.
I’ve listed them in my shop.
Goodies from Lyme Regis
Monday, March 21st, 2011We had a lovely weekend in Devon with my family. I went to my favourite shop in Lyme Regis which sells fossils and crystals and got some pretty goodies to turn into jewellery.
We also got some tasty chocolate. Chilli, chocolate and coffee are some of my favourite flavours so the combination is awesome!
Silk and Silver
Thursday, March 10th, 2011I feel that I am still finding my way with silver. I haven’t quite developed a style I’m happy with in the same way that I did with copper. They are such different materials to work with.
I bought some pretty silks from Abby and Ellie and have been playing with a few ideas. The colours of the silks are increible and I just love the way that they look with the silver.
