Artisan Show

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Yey my ticket has arrived.

We’re going on Saturday, it’s a birthday treat as it’s my birthday on the Sunday. I’m really looking forward to it. I should probably set a budget so I don’t spent *all* my money on beads!

If you go, make sure to look out for my necklace which will be on display there.

I was aprehensive about going back after being so ill but I’m feeling more confident now the first day is over!

We’ve been given a week long project, we’ve been sent to photograph a random location (well not quite random, someone else chose it and then we swapped).

I swear this is one of the most horrible places I’ve ever been! It’s supposed to be a picturesque fishing lake but it was just a putrid h…orrible bit of water surrounded by rubbish. I felt physically uncomfortable there. There were about 20 old men there fishing, all watching every step I took around the lake, making us feel so unwelcome.

I do *not* want to go back! I’ve tried to make the photos sum up how it felt to be there.

That doesn’t mean I’m not happy to be out with my camera again. The long summer break has been just what I needed and now I’m ready to get back into it.

I’m home

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

I’m home from hospital but still feeling pretty horrid. I slept for 13 hours last night and could probably do the same and still feel tired!

They sorted out the endometriosis and adhesions and the surgeon seemed pretty confident that it will be the end of my pain. I’m so hopeful that it will be. I had to stay in over night as my temperature and heart rate kept going up and then other complications in the morning meant I couldn’t go home till the afternoon. My mum was waiting for us when we got home with a coolbox full of food to keep us going so Daz doesn’t have to worry about shopping and cooking. I’ve just had two slice of very tasty cake that she brought me, it’s yum!

I’m going to be out of action for a while, it hurts to move and I’m so huge as they’ve filled me with gasses and fluids to make sure the adhesions don’t reform.

Daz has been wonderful, I couldn’t be more lucky.
Thank you for the messages from everyone.

(Pic from my last stay in hospital in April)

It’s going to be a quiet week here for me as I am going into hospital tomorrow for an operation to hopefully treat my endometriosis. Fingers crossed it means an end to all the agonising pain I’ve been in.

Any orders will still be posted out by my lovely boyfriend but I won’t be making anything for a few days atleast!

I’m making up new bits and pieces to put on my stall at the weekend. Anything that doesn’t sell will be up in my shop sometime next week

Copper Ammonite

Inspired by our weekends away on the Jurassic Coast (where my parents are lucky enough to live) I have been trying to create fossil inspired pieces. Here are my first tries, I’m please with them although I might try and work more on them now I have the basic idea.

With lots of craft fairs and markets coming up in the lead up to Christmas (sorry, didn’t want to say the C word but it is only a few months away now) I wanted lots of necklace displays and I’m on a budget so I thought I’d make my own. I’ve used brown paper, the same as in the backgrounds of my photos, but you could use any paper you like.

Below is a tutorial on how to make your own.
